Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for more than a decade. Alexandra is known for roles as a character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra Maria Lara was the sole child of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. At the age of 16 she portrayed the lead character in various TV dramas. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. Downfall received nominations for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra has been associated with numerous noteworthy projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. Some of these include the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. The actress also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
